In Loving Memory

For our brother who was never alone.

From Your Family

These words were written for you — because some things still need to be said, even when you're not here to hear them.

You taught me how to laugh

Hey D,

I keep reaching for my phone to send you something funny I saw online, and then I remember. It still catches me off guard every single time.

You were the funniest person I've ever known — not just in a "haha" way, but in a way that made the whole world feel lighter. Remember that road trip we took when the GPS took us completely off-road and we ended up at that tiny diner in the middle of nowhere? You had everyone in that place laughing within ten minutes.

I'm carrying that. Every time I walk into a room of strangers, I hear your voice: "Just smile first, bro. Smile first."

I love you. Always.

You never let me feel small

Dion,

Growing up, I was always the quiet one. You never let that be a weakness. You'd pull me into conversations, introduce me to your friends, and whenever I felt invisible, you'd throw your arm around me and say "That's my sister right there."

I didn't realize how much that meant until now. You were my hype man before I knew what that word meant.

I miss you every single day. But when I do something brave — when I walk into a room and hold my head up — I know that's you.

Forever your sister,

— Anya

The Life of the Party

Whether it was playing games or out at a function, you made people feel welcomed. You also introduced me to a lot of things that shaped me to this day.

I remember when

Aldie,

I recall a time when it was just me and oh ...how I begged mummy and prayed for a 'chocolate' sister. The Master in his humour sent you, followed by our other 3 brothers.

From the time you were able to take your first step, you were on a mission ....almost seemingly quick to be on a journey becauae you had somewhere to be. There was a time, you were about 2 years old when we were still living in Harbour Island Mummy left us in the living room to watch tv and I did not realize that you disappeared and we could not find you anywhere in the house. I was never so scared in all my young existence.

'Lo and behold, our neighbour Felecia showed up about 15 mins.later carrying you in her arms asking mummy if she was aware that you creeped out the back door across the rocks and made your way to her house.

I think thìs was the first time we realized you knew how to find Felecia's house as her home was always 'lit' with fun and excitement, good eats and treats. After that day you officially joined the 'Roberts' family clan of 10 ......followed by myself.

Big Sis.

The way you were

Aldie oh Aldie,

I am sitting here recalling another memory of a time when I was still living at home when you got your first summer job at 'Porkie's' gas station. You contracted my services to pick you and cuz.Leandrew up every night after your shift around 12 a.m.

Now mummy was sure to make it clear that I was doing a favor risking coming out of my bed at night and that car don't run on free. You guys had no issue with that at all.

Every night without fail, you would ask Big Sis.what you eating tonight. My porkie dog and fountain coke would be line up the second I arrived to pick you'll up.

You always made sure I ate and was dedicated in doing so with the lil tips you made that evening, my heart would most times not allow me to take gas money from you'll too.

This of course was our secret and mummy never had to know.

Lol.

Forever grateful with much love,

Annie

GONE 2 SOON!!

Dear Aldion,

I went to bury my dad for a weekend & returned back home to find out that my good friend left me the min I came back. If I knew that night we hanged out to go for food & drinks was going to be the last night that I would have seen you & spend time riding around & cracking big jokes I would have kept you out all night. You left without saying goodbye. I don't know why but I guess that's life. I think about all the good times to work just laughing & telling you to shut up because you would never stop talking. Now that you’re gone, I will forever miss you & you will always be in my heart. Sleep in paradise my good friend. 4everlives ALDION!!#@$#
